I'm curious: you are playing a for you quite untypical string setup on this instrument, rather high tension Synthetic G and D and even a steel a string!!! The only thing missing from this performance is explosive applause at the end--remarkable playing.

Sublime. Reminds me of Henryk Szeryng, the only one who ever did this piece justice.

The part at 2:37, no one has ever played better than this. NO ONE. Find me one, I challenge you (yes Im counting Midori's recording and gill shaham's amazing rendition as well, and also the great szeryng). This is absolute perfection. Every single time I listen to this piece played by any soloist, I always try to listen for that 2:37 part and almost always it does not sound EASY and convincing. This was breathtaking.

Absolutely stunning performance!!! Mr. Szalai's rendition is probably the closest to Oistrakh's performance!! Incredible 3rd movement!!!

Antal Zalai non solo è un colosso del violino , un Oistrakh strappato all' abbraccio della morte , ma anche ci indica , con il suo enorme repertorio e la sua modalità non supina alle standardizzate consuetudini dell' attuale mondo concertistico internazionale , una possibile apertura a quell' autenticità che il sistema nel suo caso ( ed in pochi altri ) non riesce a conculcare . Evviva !

soy argentino y el tango no suena así en el violín ..pero está muy bien igual. Es una especie de tango tocado por europeos. Que es pausado.. es mas melódico el violin en el tango argentino..igual , eres el.mejor y es un placer escucharte
